Project Description:
The Bigs in Schools statewide mentoring program funded by the Department of Education is a school based one on one customized mentoring program that provides a coordinated, professionally managed mentoring effort in 14 counties throughout the State of Florida and has reached over 1600 school aged children over the last two years.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
87 percent of mentored children improved their grades. 92 percent improved their attendance at school. 97 percent improved their behavior in school. 92 percent were promoted to the next grade level. These numbers are verified by Big Brothers Big Sisters Association of Florida in conjunction with the local school systems throughout the state. These numbers are also audited and certified by an accounting firm
