Project Description:
FOCUS is a comprehensive parent education program that provides a single point of contact for parents in need of support and training to assist their families in achieving stability and independence. The program creates a resource guide for parents that simplifies access to the multiplicity of public and private services available to parents. A community-wide public awareness program assists parents by using advertising and public service announcements to bring families in need together with resources that help families successfully stay together. The resources and strategies will be developed to allow replication across the state.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
By increasing support for parents the need for other more costly direct services are reduced while family values are supported. By increasing access to existing services, utilization and success rates are increased strongly reducing costs. The focus of all activities is to preserve families and increase individual responsibility.
