Project Description: |
This project will provide assistance to faith-based organizations as they expand their role and effectiveness in reducing the incidence of crime committed by youth living in urban distressed areas of the state. Faith-based organizations have been seen as a direct link to enabling youth in gaining or rebuilding self-esteem and self-worth, thereby, building strategies to develop a comprehensive prevention plan for juvenile crime. Data continues to show that juvenile crime is committed by youths residing in the state urban distressed areas. Faith-based organizations must become an integral part of continuum of juvenile crime prevention entity in these communities. |
