This renovation and expansion will fulfill the mandate of the 1971 Florida Legislature. The FAMU Black Archives is housed in the Carnegie Library. A federal grant of $3,740,000 has been provided by Congress contingent upon an equal match by the State. The funds are requested from the Public Education Capital Outlay (PECO) funds. The Carnegie Library Project is neede to preserve rare documents and artifacts. These resources are available for students and researchers across the State, and the Southeast, and the Nation. The Carnegie Library also houses the History of Florida A&M University. |
