||
Restore funding for the Florida Empowerment Zone Act which provides an annual match of $225,000 each year for 8 years to match the Federal designation for the Round II designated Rueal Enterprise Community. The Empowerment Alliance of Southwest Flroda includes the Immokalee Community, eastern Hendry County and the Seminole Indian Reservations fo Big Cypress and Immokalee. This rural area of the State has suffered form pervasive poverty and was awarded the designation as a Rural Enterprise Community (the only one in Round II in the state) with a Strategic Plan to promote community development and economic revitalization for this rural area. |

This past year and a half, the Empowerment Alliance of Southwest Florida has been able to leverage $28 million dollars of other state, federal and private funding due to the staff resources and match funding this resource provides. |
