Project Description:
The Weed and Seed Youth Leadership Academy (YLA) is a nationally recognized and comprehensive strategy designed to enhance self-esteem and to develop employable skills in youth that have been exposed to the juvenile justice system through youth and family advocacy, mentoring, tutoring, internships and community service.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
Participating youth will demonstrate an investment in a new culture that values learning and community involvement, improved self-control, communication, conflict resolution skills, and independent living skills, the ability to work collaboratively on team projects, and measurable skills in information technology and an understanding of how to apply this technology to their daily lives.
