Project Description: |

||
The Florida Agricultural Museum, designated by Florida Statutes as the museum of agriculture and rural history for Florida, is in the process of developing several living exhibits. This grant will allow the Museum to incorporate the Caldwell Dairy Barn, the Clark Pioneer Homestead, the Traxler Commissary, the Espanola Building and the Lane Saw Mill into a 3-dimentional, interactive, outdoor experience, recreating life as it was in a turn-of-the-century Florida agricultural museum. As a 30 acre site, the exhibition will connect the historic buildings, outbuildings, artifacts, animals and educational components within the concept of a living agricultural community, while actively interpreting Florida's history and people. This project was ranked #44 by the Historic Preservation Advisory Council. |
