Project Description:
The Rites of Passage for Girls Youth Empowerment Academy is a 12 month risk-focused crime prevention and intervention program designed to address the needs of elementary and high school aged girls, most like to enter or re-enter the juvenile justice system. Through a series of building block skill based workshops, service learning projects, academy supports, mental health education/counseling services, case management, parental involvement and alternative weekend activities, provided by a multi-agency network for comprehensive services, girls will become empowered with the knowledge, skills and abilities to transition successfully from adolescence into adulthood.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
Improved student academic performance and attendance, reduction of disciplinary action for problem behavior, decrease delinquent behavior and improved family management skills.
