Project Description:
In cooperation with the City of Key West, the Monroe County Planning Department will contract with an urban planning constuling firm to prepare a master community plan for Stock Island that will address quality of life, land use, community facilities and public infrastructure, affordable housing, transporation and community redevelopment and reinvestment issues. An intensive public participation process will be followed in the preparation of this plan.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
The end product will be a community master plan that is consistent with and furthers the goals and policies of the County's Year 2010 Comprehensive Plan and Chapters 163 and 380 Florida Statutes. It will provide the blueprint for guilding the redevelopment of this deteriorating area of the County, which provides much of the affordable employee housing for the City of Key West businesses.
