Project Description:

This project will provide for the renovation/modernization of the Niceville-Valparaiso-Bay Area Chamber of Commerce facility and the immediate surrounding public recreation area.

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:

The scenic waterfront setting on Boggy Bayou is ideal for community events and increased public utilization of the recreation area on the order of 70% is anticapted.  Public utlization will be measured through periodic traffic count into the area.  A decrease in the frequency of local law enforcement calls to this area on the order of 50% is anticipated as a direct result of the increased public utilization of the area(higher average population density in the area serving as a deterrent) and the enhance illumination of the general area.  Information regarding the frequency of local law enforcement calls to the area will be available through the individual law enforcement agencies.  Fianlly, a 3-5 year expansion of the useful lifetimes of similar public boat launch areas in the immediate area as a result of their decreased utilization is anticipated.  This outcome will be measured by review of public maintenance records of these facilities.
