Project Description:
The K-9 Training/Competition Field will be a grass field 100 feet x 250 feet surrounded by a 7 foot chain link fence with 2 gates and a paved parking area. Training equipment will 6 ? 4? x 4? x 4? wooden hide boxes and assorted PVC jumps. The K-9 Training area will be utilized during training exercises. The focus of this proposed project is to provide to the K-9 Unit with a training facility within the City of Coconut Creek to facilitate continued training during the shift in lieu of traveling and availability to have multi-agency training. Services Provided/Benefits: When the training field is set up, our K-9 handlers will be able to provide continued training each shift they work. This will maintain the K-9?s agility and obedience and would have them readily available when needed.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
1) Increase training on agility and obedience by 100%. 2) Facilitate multi-agency training by 50%.
