The Special Event Mobile Unit will be a 32 foot motorized vehicle equipped with twin generators (5 KW each), 2 roof airs (1 ? 11,000 BTU, 1 ? 13,500 BTU w/heat strips), awing, CO detector, rear ladder, marker boards mounted on rear cabinets, patio light by entry door, mud flaps rear, emergency start battery system, spare tire, trailer hitch, holding tank, 50 AMP converter and cord, dead bolt doors, exterior mirrors with convex, TV antenna with booster, windshield privacy drapes, power bath vent, and on board fresh water supply.

The Special Event Mobile Unit will be a self contained mobilized unit to be operated as a communications work coordination area, equipment transportation and display area, personnel transportation, mobile training office/work area, and rest and relaxation area.

The focus of this proposed unit is to provide to the Police Department a mobile unit to be used during city sponsored events, local and out of town functions by honor guard and explorer personnel, training personnel, community involvement personnel, and a command center on police crime scenes and incidents or other emergency operations.

Services Provided/Benefits: To provide a central work location on the scenes of community events for police personnel to provide security and coordinate operations when necessary.  In the areas of public information, the unit will be used to display community involvement material to inform the public on security information, first aid information, and procedures to take in case of disasters such as a hurricane.  The unit will also be used to transport members of the department?s explorer post to functions that are part of the training and building of youth growth in community services.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:

 

 

 

 

 

1) Increase of 50% in community involvement events and explorer participation in these events.  2) Decease of 50% in long range vehicle usage on transportation and participation. 3) Increase of 50 ? 75% in outside training.
