Project Description: |

||
Parent education for foster children and their biological parents. the children are transported to the facility by one of the agency's driver's, and join their parents for a 21/2 hour class. Professional parent educators, using Nurturing Program curriculum, work with the family throughout class and visitation time. The Department of Children and Families caseworker receives a weekly class report, a more comprehensive interim report, and a detailed final report that may be submitted to the Court. The goals are to reduce the length of stay for children in foster care, and to eliminate/reduce re-abuse and neglect by helping parents learn to create a more nurturing home environment. The Family Nurturing Center of Florida is also representing the Department of Children and Families District IV in a statewide project on parent education. |
