Project Description:

This supervised visitation program provides the opportunity for contact between a noncustodial parent and a child in the presence of a third party responsible for observing and ensuring the safety of those involved.  This program will provide the facility, resources and administrative services in the course of offering a safe and structured setting for supervised visitation and monitored exchange.  Cases which this program expect to serve include Family Court cases, domestic violence and dependency.  There are no other programs in Pasco County offering this service.  A consortium of local judges, attorneys, FDCF workers, agency personnel and local citizens have been meeting as a committee for over two years to attempt to get such a program in operation.

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:

It is anticipated that 200 families would be served during the first year of operation.  As a result it is anticipated that fewer child abuse complaints will be made regarding participant families.  It is also expected that fewer court actions between families going through divorce and child custody procedures will be undertaken while families are participating in this program.
