Project Description:
It is the purpose of this project to educate youth through a massive media campaign on the dangers of drugs and crime lifestyles. Once model is developed, the program will be implemented statewide. The State of Florida funding will allow us to launch our created Time-Out Drugs Destroy Dreams project. The project will provide activities for drug and crime prevention and counseling services to children and families in Leon County. The program is aimed to assist youth with activities designed to provide general information to help prevent children from suffering from unintentional circumstances. The target population of the project is economically, disadvantaged youngsters. Our project will provide them with meaningful development skills and training experiences, enhancing a long-term drug-free and crime-free lifestyles.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
A large number of youth participation will find alternatives to drugs and crime free lifestyles by concentrationg on actions to be taken based on new found knowledge about drug abuse. The program will promote youth to become more aware of their power by emphasizing the strengths in their life and develop their life through study and practice and the achievement of future goals. The Tallahassee Urban League encourages youth to get involved with their family, church, community and take action, locally and nationally on the fight against drugs.
