Project Description:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Funds will be provided to the Florida Department of Education to award grants to districts in order that they may focus on the safety and retention issues related to volunteers.  Thsi project provides the opportunity for organized screening of mentors, training of volunteers and school staffs, volunteer friendly schools, substantive activities for all volunteers, and recognition opportunities for volunteers.  This project, will develop a management system at the district and school levels to ensure a positive volunteer experience, maximum and safe benefit to students, reduce teacher workload related to volunteers, and encourage volunteers to continue their involvement in future years.
