This project is an important component to the success of the MIC. The project is being advanced to coordinate with the completion of the MIC-MIA connector project to be completed in 2006 which will provide a fixed guideway connection between Miami International Airport and the Metrorail system. |

The MIC would house car rental facilities and provide a local transfer point for various transportation modes including bus, commuter rail, automated guideway, heavy rail and taxis. This funding request will keep the Airport-Earlington Heights Connector project advancing through the Final Environmental Impact Statement, Preliminary Engineering and advanced right of way acquisition. |
