Project Description:
Construct a 25,000 square foot building to facilitate educational learning. The facility will house an innovative juvenile justice & education demostration program. The building will serve as a courtroom for the 7th Judical Circuit's minor offense cases, a home for Port Orange's Police Athletic League (PAL), and a in-school suspension facility and classroom space for Volusia County School System and Atlantic High's Academy of Law & Government. This unique partnership between the City of Port Orange, Volusia County Schools, the local juvenile justice system, and the State will provide creative and innovative approaches to education, in-school suspension, and classroom discipline. The program will also promote activities such as PAL which can assist in the prevention of juvenile crime in the community.

Increased particpation in the Academy, reduce juvenille crime, and greater educational opportunities for the local community.
