Project Description:
Selected programs in spinal cord injury and brain research, to develop improved rehabilitation technologies, protect and prevent nervous system damage, promote regeneration and recovery of function.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
Progress is reported annually to the State and in the scientific literature, and judged by scientific advisors. New therapies are introduced for clinical use as they become established. What statewide interest does this project address as it relates to Chapter 216.052(1)? Research at Florida's research universities leads the nation in development of regeneration strategies and functional rehabilitation technologies, to reduce cost of care and improve quality of life of trauma survivors.
