Research on shark stock assessment and habitat issues in state waters and on status and conservation needs of sawfish, facing endangered species listing.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
Data for use in developing shark fisheries and sawfish recovery management plans.To determine habitat issues in state waters and the status and conservation needs of the sawfish, a once-common Florida fish, the world's largest ray and the largest marine fish being considered for U.S. Endangered Species listing.
