The City of Plantation, Florida endeavors to install a computer aided dispatch, mobile computer program, and records management system for its public safety entities during this fiscal year. Currently, all public safety dispatch operations and calls, including calls for emergency services, are handled using an antiquated manual "card" system. While the dispatchers, police officers and firefighters serving the City of Plantation have adapted to this system over the years, the technology exists to improve the services provided to our citizens and visitors and the City is committed to improving the current emergency service response mechanism with today's technology.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:

 

 

 

 

 

It is fully expected that the citizens of Plantation will be provided with increased levels of service and satisfaction and this increased level of service can and will be measured through an existing survey mechanism completed by the department's crime analysis unit, including public perception of crime problems throughout the community.
