Repairs/remodeling to Casa Nueve Vida's rear building which was set on fire by homeless persons who started a cooking fire, while the main facility was being remodeled last year. This was not covered by insurance. Because the cost of this repair and that of previous remodeling on the facility will exceed 25% of the value of the building, the facility being repaired must be brough to code, thus increasing the cost. Dry wall, ceiling, plumbing, electricity, air conditioning, etc. must be done in accordance with post hurricane codes. The project will allow for program expansion for the residents of Casa Nueva Vida which is a Level II Residential Treatment Facility for monolingual Hispanics addicted to alcohol and/or drugs or are dually diagnosed. |
