Project Description:
FAME(Family Anger management Education) places an emphasis on specific skills needed to successfully enable youth to express, defuse and negotiate anger. Parents participate in the group sessions to understand the skills being taught and to learn methodsto model and reinforce them at home. FAME will give those youth who are demonstrating difficulty in managing their anger the specific skills needed to constructively express, defuse, and negotiate anger while giving their parents methods to model and reinforce the identified skills at home.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
Youth will develop the skills needed to constructively manage anger, strengthen the family and their support systems, therefy reducing the risk of violence and juvenile crimes as well as incre3asing family functioning. Successful participants will: A. Reduce family hostility, aggression and conflict 15%. B. Decrease home violence by 50%.
