Project Description:

The University of North Florida and Edward Waters College joint use facility would enable these institutions to improve delivery of instruction for undergraduate tecer candidates and for out of field, urban techers who are seeking certification and/or msters degrees in education.  A facility located on the Edward Waters campus could provide these two institutions with state of the art classrooms which would be used by EWC elementary education majors for daytime classes and by UNF's urban teacher cohorts for late afternoon and evening course work.  During the summer, inservice teachers enrolled in graduage degrees would complete coursework at this facility.  A joint use facility such as this one would allow college faculty to model effective teaching stratagies that optimize the use of technology for teacher candidates and urban teachers.

The College of Computing Sciences and Engineering at the University of North Florida has two programs that present exciting opportunities to work collaboratively with Edward Waters College.  A joint-use facility would provide the necessary link in making the collaboration work effectively.  Through this facility, properly educated graduates ll dramatically contribute to the economic vitality of Northeast Florida. The Joint-Use Facility would facility the offering of a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems to Msters of Science in Computer Information Syystems, and a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction Management.  All classes would be delivered in the joint use facility
