Project Description:

The Miami-Dade County Public Schools, Instructional Technology Department (here forth MDCPS), desires to purchase hardware and educational software to use as an important tool to improve student performance in the areas of reading and math in middle schools rated as D or F per the state?s A-Plus plan.  In addition, MDCPS desires to purchase hardware and educational software to improve student performance in the areas of reading and math, and in FCAT scoring in high schools rated as D or F per the state?s A-Plus plan.

MDCPS intends to deploy six computer education labs in six failing middle schools and six computer labs in six failing high schools.  To ensure that this pilot is effectively implemented and properly utilized by the middle and high schools, MDCPS will issue an RFP to the schools that qualify and base the selection of the sites for installation of the computer labs on several key factors (e.g. responsiveness, commitment to properly and effectively utilize the computer lab, ability to show fiscal and performance accountability, etc.)
