Project Description:

A by-product of the work of the Regional Planning Councils in the state of Florida is the constant gathering of data.  As a result, the Regional Planning Councils in the state of Florida are repositories of a wealth of information including, but not limited to , data collected on all aspects of economic, demographic, ecological, groth management, social services, emergency management, and geographical information.  The data the council's collect could be of vital use to entities witin the counties that are served--entities such as municipalities, counties, developers, non-profit organizations, and the like.  However, currently there is no efficient manner in which entities within the Councils' jurisdictions can access the data that are housed within the Councils.  This project will correct the problem of access by developing a data center that is web-based within the Northeast Florida Regional Planning Council

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:

The efficient dissemination of correct and appropriate data to governmental entities will enhance their productivity and viability.  This outcome will begin on a regional level and will proceed to the statewide level.  Dissemination (for a fe) of appropriate data tot he private sector will enhance the building of partnerships between the government and private sectors, while creating sustainability for this project.
