Project Description:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This project provides for the elimination of blight, the improvement of housing conditions and the creation of a new transportation corridor to Blanche Ely High School.  It includes the construction of 20,000 square feet of sidewalk, 11,000 linear feet of curb and gutter, repaving 1.2 miles of streets, installation of 30,000 square feet of landscaping, relocation of utilities, construction of traffic calming devices, adding bus shelters, and demolition of seven structures.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:

 

 

 

 

 

Reduction of crime in an area of high crime concentration.  Increased safety of pedestrians and use of school crossings.  Reduction of pedestrian and vehicular conflicts.  Reopening of service/neighborhood oriented businesses.
