The FSF program focuses on reducing the strees factors identified as prevalent in "at risk" families so that the incidences of child abuse and neglect can in turn be reduced.  All educational and therapeutic components of the program including parenting skills education, life skills education, child abuse prevention education and training, individual and family therapy, support groups, after school tutoring program, summer camp, vocational training (computer education), and education training (GED and ESOL) aim towards this goal.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:

 

 

 

 

 

The FSF program's expected outcomes include:

 

(1) Increased parental involvement in school related activities, (2) Increased educational skills of parents and children, (3) Increased attendance level of students identified by school personnel, (4) Increased awareness of the relationship between education and future success, (5) Increased reliance/trust on available community resources, (6) Increased child abuse prevention knowledge for children, parents, and teachers, (7) Increased awareness of available community educational, vocational, and employment resources, (8) Increase parent's ability to protect and nurture their children and successfully resolve conflicts.

 

* Family Education & Support Services to 2,100 clients, Child Abuse Prevention Education & Training to 60,000 students/teachers/parents, School Supplies Distribution to 1,000 students.

 

* The FSF program benefits the State of Florida with healthier families and children who will be less likely to need the services of the Department of Children and Families, the Department of Juvenile Justice, and other government agencies.
