Project Description: |

The six statutory teaching hospitals (Jackson Memorial, Mount Sinai Medical Center, Orlando Regional, Shands-Gainesville, Shand-Jacksonville, and Tampa General) in partnership with the University of Florida, University of South Florida, and University of Miami Colleges of Medicine provide graduate medical education and training to over 1700 medical residents participating in over 85 residency programs. Through this educational endeavor, the teaching hospitals are able to provide access to care for indigent persons in their region and tertiary and quartenary care to the entire state. At the same time, the joint mission achieves the education and training of Florida's required health care manpower. |
