South Miami addresses juvenile crime prevention efforts through the Prevention through Academic and Recreational Excellence (PARE) program, which strives to "pare" the number of children entering the juvenile justice system by increasing the number of children served by the After School House and through formal recreation programs. Funding would provide for continuation of the following positions: PARE Director, Physical Education Teacher, Social Worker, Art/Music Teacher, Recreation Specialist, Teacher, Teacher's Aide, and 7 Recreation Leaders. |
