CAC in Gainesville facilitates a public-private partnership for service to child abuse victims. The primary focus of the center is to reduce trauma to victims through a multi-disciplinary approach to the tracking of child abuse reports, investigations of child abuse allegations, prosecution of child abuse criminals and ensuring the children receive the services needed to heal from the abuse. Communities across the nation which have developed CAC's report up to 85% increase in criminal convictions of child abuse perpetrators. Professionals using the CAC save substantial time on casework and are better able to see the "big picture" when they understand each other's roles and responsibilities.
