Project Description:
The Second Circuit receives approximately 2.3% of the entire State Attorney budget granted by the Legislature. Due to the base that we have been assigned, it is not sufficient. The base and our low yearly budget increase is shown to be insufficient because we are losing attorneys and support staff nearly as fast as we can hire them. The low pay and high case load along with better opportunities in the private sector and other state agencies gives us a distinct disadvantage. We need for our base to be increased in order to retain good employees. An additional $200,000 would supply the flexibility that is needed to retain good staff. - Increase Circuit base to supply the Circuit with flexibility which is needed to retain staff.
