The Altha Area Recreation Committee, which is an advisory board for the Altha Town Council, has been working hard for the last three years to obtain Florida Recreational Deveopment Assistance Program funding. These funds are being used to purchase land and develop a much needed community park. We have ran into a monumental snag in acquiring funding for a waterline extension to supply the park |

Oglesby is the largest private sector employer in Calhoun County. They currently maintain their own system, which is quite an expenditure for them annually. They are interested in water supply from the Town of Altha. This is a win-win situation, Oglesby could decrease operating expenses and the Town of Altha would obtain much needed revenue from the water sales |
