|
The Broward Boulevard corridor is in one of the higher crime areas in Broward County. Several programs have been put together to raise the standard of living and quality of life in the area. The Broward Facade Program, a program to improve the appearance of the operating businesses and storefronts, is currently underway. Additional enhancements to the corridor will also include the resurfacing of the roadway and construction of new neighborhood entryways. This project is under a CPTED design - a concept that expands upon the assumption that the proper design and effective use of the built environment can lead to a reduction in the fear of crime, a reduction in the incidence of crime, and an improvement in the quality of life. |
