|
The Miami Children's Museum intends to construct a 53,000 sq. ft. facility on Watson Island. The museum has received 2.32 acres of land from the City of Miami for the building of its permaent facility. Additionally, Miami Dade county has committed $800,000 from the Safe Neighborhood Park Bonds and Captial Development Grants. Through the State of Florida Division of Cultural Affairs the museum has received $1.9 million for the construction of its facility. Private support from individuals, corporations and foundations exceeds $5.3 million. State funds will be used for the development and fabrication of exhibitions showcasing the state of Florida. |
