Job Title

Member Services Liaison (Office of the Majority Leader)

General Summary

This individual functions as a liaison in the Office of the Majority Leader for legislators by developing and providing resources, communications, problem-solving assistance, and trainings.

Examples of Work Performed

  • Creates impactful messages and resources related to legislation to help legislators and their staff communicate with their district. 
  • Understands a communication’s audience and tailors the messaging accordingly.
  • Researches and drafts meaningful training for legislators.
  • Monitors the progress of legislation through committees of reference and on the floor.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong communication, organizational, and writing skills.
  • Knowledge of Florida state government. 
  • Ability to work cooperatively as a team member and to contribute to the efficient internal functioning of the office staff. 
  • Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three years of professional experience in research, analysis, program planning and evaluation, or administrative work. 
  • A master's degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for one year of the required experience. 
  • A doctorate from an accredited college or university can substitute for two years of the required experience. 
  • Professional experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
