OPS Page and Messenger Clerk

General Summary

The Office of the Clerk is seeking supervisors for the Florida House of Representatives Page and Messenger Program.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

The Page & Messenger program is a long-standing tradition of the Florida House of Representatives. Students from all over Florida serve the House during legislative session.

Applicants for the role of supervisor are responsible for the safety and accountability of each student involved in the program.  Supervisors will assist the Program Coordinator by checking students in each morning, giving students and parents a brief tour of the Capitol, promptly respond to incoming message requests and  provide instructions delivery to Messengers, schedule visits with Representatives, chaperone tours outside of the Capitol complex, and checkout students any time they leave the building.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualified applicants will hold a minimum of a high school diploma and have previous experience in a supervisory role with teenage children.  A major in education studies and/or law enforcement background are a plus. Basic computer and office skills (computer, copy machine, fax etc.) are required. The applicant should be able to pass a background check.
