| This is a three phase project to restore flow of water into historic Cutler Creek that flows through the Charles Deering Estate to enable the Park and Recreation Staff to protect historic, cultural, and environmental resources within the glade while restoring water flow. Phase One, currently funded at $265,000 involves the construction of an adjustable weir near the bridge on Old Cutler Trail, enabling re-hydration to be accomplished solely via rainfall. Phases Two and Three, for which funding is being sought, involve the restoration of five (5) acres of freshwater wetland on the newly acquired ten acre property and additionally the construction of a culvert system to allow water flow under Old Cutler Road into the Deering Estate. | |||||||||
