Project Description: |
This service offers three programs. Teacher and Adult Education providing training and consultation services preparing teachers to instruct children with disabilities. It includes a partnership with Florida Gulf Coast University in a Masters of Arts program. Families Forward provides support and strategies for families to maximize the educational, behavioral and emotional potential of disabled children while strengthening the family unit. Family Learning Labs, direct educational intervention for children with special learning needs in an after school setting. |

Measurable Outcome Anticipated: |
Teachers and Adult Education Programs; 80% of the participants will be satisfied with services based upon responses to the Dept. of Children and Families Satisfaction Survey. Attendance will be at least 85%. At least 40 teachers will receive the MA in Exceptional Student Education granted by Fl. Gulf Coast University. Families Forward, 80% will be satisfied with services based upon responses to the Dept. of C&F survey. Family learning labs; 90% who are subject to an academic pre-test assessment will show academic improvement by 25%. |
