| Construct stormwater infrastructure in thhe River Oaks/Edgewood neighborhoods in the Southwest quadrant of Fort Lauderdale. This will eliminate the malfunction of plumbing in households and the discharge of fecal matter from septic tanks due to drainfields malfunctioning. It will also minimize mosquito breeding grounds caused by areawide flooding, and allow the City to install controls for surface water quality in the New River. The proposed project will include conveyance swales, exfiltration trenches, retention ponds, and the necessary purchase of land to this infrastructure. | |||||||||

| The infrastructure will eliminate the malfunction of plumbing in households and the discharge of fecal matter from septic tanks due to drainfields malfunction. It will also minimize mosquito breeding grounds caused by areawide flooding. It will allow the City to direct the stromwater to designed retention areas where best management practices will allow the installation of controls to address surface water quality in the New river. Loadings will be reduced by the control of surface discharge to the waterbodies by controlling sheet flow of retention ponds with overflow discharge only through approved water quality controls. | |||||||||
