Project Description: |
The David Posnack Jewish Community Center of South Broward (DPJCC) is a non-profit, non-sectarian, multi-purpose facility which provides educational, social, cultural and recreational activities for Broward's children, teens, adults and senior citizens. The DPJCC enriches the lives of the community by enhancing their personal, social and physical development by encouraging responsible citizenship and leadership.
The DPJCC will receive a one million dollar endowment from the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation. The endowment requires a match. State funds of $500,000 would supplement the Weinberg Endowment thereby activating the 1.5 million dollar endowment. The interest generated will be used to maintain, support, operate and provide outreach social services and recreational programs for the general community, such as: educational and recreational services for children, teens, adults and seniors, special needs programs, therapeutic and rehabilitative services, cultural events for the community and to provide financial assistance to families in need.
