There is a lack of fish processing plants in Florida. Currently over 75% of our fish is imported. Working in conjunction with the South Florida Aquaculture Co-Op and the existing Collier City fish farm this project will reduce the dependency on foreign fish, provide jobs in an area that has over 25% of all residents living below the poverty level and will be used by Nova Southeastern University as a "hands on" teaching facility for the Oceanographic Institute.
