| Project will develop stormwater management control, and treatment facilities to reduce the discharge of pollutants in urban runoff entering Apalachicola Riber and Bay, an Outstanding Florida Water and Aquatic Preserve. Project is located in an Area of Critical Concern and Rural Area of Critical Economic Concern. | |||||||||

| The City of Apalachicola is located directly on the Apalachicola River and Bay. The area receives over 50 inches of rainfall annually which directly runs off into the adjacent waters. There are no landuse or stormwater controls to abate or filter the direct runoff into the productive Esturine waters which are periodically closed to shellfish harvesting. The development of a Stormwater Quality Management System will have a significant improvement on water quality entering the system. | |||||||||
