| The Florida AHEC Network, established in Section 381.0402 of the Florida Statutes, is a nationally recognized, statewide system that joins all five medical schools in the state in a cooperative alliance to address the health priorities of the entire state, especially the health care needs of Florida's medically underserved populations. Ten (10) regional, community-based AHEC Centers affiliated with the medical school AHEC programs work with local partners to increase access to primary health care for medically underserved populations and safety net sites (Community Health Centers, etc.) throughout the State in conjunction with the Florida Department of Health. | |||||||||
