| The City of Homestead is a municipality located in the Southeastern region of the Florida Peninsula. Like other Governmental entities, the City's chief mission is to protect the lives and property of all people. There are multiple potentially high risk areas within the City's facilities that could be susceptible to terrorist attacks, primarily because of the service they provide to the community. Therefore, it is imperative that the City remains vigilant in its pursuit to provide the safest environment possible through enhanced security measures. | |||||||||

| The City's areas of vulnerability were identified through internal surveys conducted by department heads of all City facilities. Improvements have already been made based on recommendations, however many additional improvements remain incomplete because of lack of funding. Such enhancements include motorized gates, security cameras, telephones, panic buttons and bulletproof walls, windows and doors in vulnerable areas. This funding will address these needs. | |||||||||
