| Funding will be used for the purchase and installation of permanent storm shield on four buildings which are critical to the continuation operation of the City of North Miami during major storm events. The buildings are the Winston Water Plant at Sunkist Grove, City Halol, the Utilities Operations Center and the Motor Pool. North Miami City Hall is a designated Miami-Dade Regional Emergency Operations Command Center for both the Miami-Dade County Emergency Team and the City's Central Communications Center for all phases of storm related emergencies. Permanent storm shield will ensure critical resources, equipment and personnel are secured during major storm events. The City proposes to install the Stormshield Hurricane Barrier System. This system provices maximukm protection during hurricanes, is energy efficient and offers excellent security. | |||||||||
