| The construction of a youth center and ancillary facilities at Claude Pepper Park. The project will also include the provision of lighted parking, walkways, paved picnic area, signage, site furniture and landscaping . The project will be located in the remaining 15 acres of the 30 acre Claude Pepper Park site. The City of North Miami will partner with Vision to Victory Human Services Corporation to provide a primary prevention and early intervention to the youth of our City. The program will provide after school and weekend assistance for 75 females, ages 8-14, from three urban schools North Miami Elementary, North Miami Middle and Thomas Jefferson Middle located in high crime areas within the City. The peogram is designed to provide sixteen weeks of intensive intervention with a six month follow up. The following components will be included: tutoring/academic enrichment, computer skills, pscho-educational groups, community service projects, counseling, recreation, cultural enrichment and transportation. | |||||||||
