Measurable Outcome Anticipated: |
The primary objective of the project is to restore the water quality and overall ecological health of Naples Bay. The Gordon River Extension and Gateway Triangle water management projects have outlined a range of structural and nonstructural measures consisting of channel modification, stormwater retention areas, filter marshes and exotic removal to control flows and pollutant discharges. The retrofit of Golden Gate Weir #2 and I-75 Weir #1 will involve raising the levels of the existing crests and modification of the gates of the weirs to reduce overdrainage and introduce pulsated release of wet season discharges. These measures will lead to reduction of the loadings of priority pollutants like total nitrogen, TSS and phosphorus. |
