Project Description: |
The project will develop a stormwater master plan that identifies and prioritizes measures to reduce nutrients, bacteria and other stormwater related contaminants entering lakes within the city of Sebring. The master plan will 1) Define the aerial extent and quantify hydrologic and chemical parameters of the watershed affecting stormwater runoff to lakes in the City of Sebring (an effort already underway), 2) Prioritize areas within the watersheds as to degree of stormwater impact, both flow and contaminant loading, 3) Provide implementable strategies for addressing stormwater issues identified in steps 1 and 2, 4) Identify existing sources for funding the maintenance and operation of the stormwater system, 5) Provide a schedule for implementing identified solutions to stormwater impacts, and 6) Document changes in water quality in both runoff water and in lake water quality related to implemented practices. Presently, steps 1 and 2 are being completed in a piecemeal fashion for Lake Jackson. |
