The interchange improvements are necesary to improve conditions at the interchange location and accomodate the eight laning of SR 528 and the four laning of SR 15 to meet regional transpotation needs. Thi s project is located at the Sr 528/ SR15 interchange at the Northeast corner of the Orlando International Airport. These improvements will also improve SR 528's operations as part of the state's hurricaine evacuation system. the project is supported by the Orlando/ Orange Coutny Expressway Authority, the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, and the Cape Canaveral Port Authority. |

Project Description: |
The improvements associated with this request approximately 30 miles long and will include structural improvements to SR 528 mainline, SR 15 underpass, includes ramp improvements and will widen SR 15 from its current terminus at SR 528 northward to McCoy Road. The improvement will include re-construction of two-lane roadway to add two travel lanes, sidewalks, transit accomodations and bicycle lanes. The bicycle lanes will connect into the City's 160 miles of existing bikeways. |
